SB 721 balcony deadlines and contractor checks

Starting with the SB 721 balcony inspection rules for buildings with three or more units. More commercial property tools are coming.

What it tracks

Every building's deadline, report and repair clock

  • Every building's deadline. Tracks the inspection deadline under H&S Code 17973 and records the inspector's report and findings.
  • Permit and repair clocks. The 120-day permit and 120-day repair clocks, with reminders.
  • Inspector and vendor checks. CSLB license status for SB 721 inspectors, plus VendorGuard's certificate of insurance and license tracking for the contractors on your buildings.

It tracks dates and documents; it isn't engineering or legal advice.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to download an app?

No. Every Caissonix product runs in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There's nothing to install, and updates reach everyone right away.

Is this insurance or legal advice?

No. Caissonix provides software and informational reviews. It does not sell, place or broker insurance, and it does not give legal advice. The apps compare your documents and dates with public data and cited rules; decisions stay with you, your broker and, where appropriate, your attorney.

Does Caissonix handle insurance claims?

No. Caissonix does not handle, adjust, negotiate or present insurance claims, and Rebuild Tracker never contacts your insurer or your contractor.

Can I buy it today?

Not yet. Every product is in pilot and the prices shown are proposed. The demos are free and need no sign-up. If you'd like to be part of the pilot, get in touch.

Where does the data come from?

Contractor license, bond and workers' comp status come from the Contractors State License Board's public data files, and the file date is shown. Rules are summarized from the official California code text, with links. Association hazard zones come from CAL FIRE and FEMA map services. Always confirm on the official source before you rely on it.

Can I try it with my own information?

Not in the demos. They're shared sandboxes with fictional data that reset every night, so please don't enter real information. Pilot customers get a private account.
